Anchored Registry · corrections and removals
If your organisation is on a page here
You did not ask to be listed, and you do not have to argue a case to be taken off. Write to oleg@anchoredregistry.com and a named person answers within one working day. What follows is only here so the message you send is the one that resolves it fastest.
First, which kind of wrong
| The situation | Where it gets fixed |
|---|---|
| The page matches the RIPE database, and the RIPE database is wrong | In the registry. Every page here is rebuilt from RIPE’s published dumps, so correcting the object corrects this site and every other derived view at once. Tell us anyway if you want it checked after. |
| The page disagrees with the RIPE database | Here, and it is our defect. Send the URL — it will be corrected and the importer fixed so the same class of error does not come back. |
| Everything is accurate and you still want the page gone | Here. No reason is needed and none will be asked for. |
What to put in the message
- Your organisation handle — ORG-XXXX-RIPE. It is the one unambiguous identifier; company names repeat across countries.
- The URL of the page, or just “all of them”.
- Whether you want it corrected or removed, and if corrected, what the right value is.
How the request is checked
Against the contact published on your own organisation object in the RIPE database — that is the one time this operation reads a contact field at all, it is not stored, and it is not used for anything else. If you are writing from an address that is not on the record, say who you are and it will be sorted out by asking, not by refusing.
Either side of a sponsorship can ask. A sponsor removing itself takes down its own page and the resources listed under it; a holder removing itself takes down its page and its resources wherever they appear.
What happens then
- A reply within one working day, from a person, naming what was done.
- A removal is recorded as a suppression the importer applies at the one point data enters the site, so it survives every rebuild. It does not depend on anybody remembering.
- Search, the sitemap and the API and MCP follow from the same filter — there is no second path to the data that could keep serving it.
- Pages already crawled are asked to be dropped from the index. How long a search engine takes after that is not ours to promise.
What this page is not
It is not a route to change the registry. Only the maintainer of an object can do that, and it is not us — the data we hold is a read-only copy of what RIPE publishes. It is also not a sales channel: writing here does not put you on a list, because there is no list to be on and no contact data is kept from the dumps at all.
